My background
Felicia Bermudez knows what economists chart because she lived it. The childhood anemia from nutrition program cuts. The overcrowded classrooms from education defunding. The sophisticated survival strategies families create when public support disappears. Now, after two decades in tech marketing, she's turning that lived expertise toward advocacy.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Bermudez navigated from public schools and free lunch programs to twenty years of marketing leadership at IBM, Cloudflare, Cloudera, and other technology companies. As part of the only 2% of Latinas in tech, she brings rare perspective: a native Californian who survived systematic underinvestment in the 1980s, caught the brief policy windows in the 1990s that enabled college access, then spent two decades in boardrooms while watching how early barriers compound across generations.
A former NCAA Division I athlete who competed on financial aid, Bermudez is a first generation college graduate with a BA in Political Science and an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. She graduated from the Book Academy in 2025 and serves as a volunteer and speaker for Second Harvest Food Bank, work deeply informed by her own childhood experience. Currently training with Emerge California to run progressive campaigns, she is a Wise Ink author due to publish her nonfiction debut in 2026.
