About Me

Felicia Bermúdez doesn't just study economic mobility; she's lived it. Born and raised in the Bay Area, she navigated from welfare and free lunch programs to two decades of marketing leadership at top tech companies. Now, as a graduate of The Book Academy and Emerge California, she's turning that hard-won expertise towards progressive advocacy.

As part of only 8% of Latinas with a Master's degree and 2% of Latinas in tech, Bermudez brings a rare perspective. She survived the systematic underinvestment in California schools in the 1980s, experiencing firsthand the effects of policy choices. But she also caught the brief windows of opportunity in the 1990s that enabled her to become a first-generation college graduate and Division I athlete.

Unable to find a job with her political science degree out of college, Bermúdez honed her marketing skills for twenty years, witnessing the industry's evolution from creative to  data-driven, always focused on calculating ROI. She's determined to use that expertise for social change.

Through her writing and social media presence, Bermúdez sparks conversations about the human cost of inequity and the urgent need for systemic solutions. As a Second Harvest Food Bank volunteer and speaker, she draws on her own experiences with food insecurity to advocate for others.

For Bermúdez, the fight for economic mobility is deeply personal. She knows that talent is universal, but opportunity is not. And she's determined to bridge the gap between policy and reality for the next generation.
